Kiki gavdos rooms
welcome

Introduction
Based in the renowned Sarakiniko Beach on the remote island of Gavdos and taking its first steps in the 1980s, the Kiki Rooms family aims to offer a wonderful vacation experience and carefree atmosphere to all travelers. Whether you are traveling with your partner or on a family vacation, we provide rooms that can accommodate up to four people in two room complexes located just a hundred meters from the sea.
Our services go beyond accommodation as we have a neighboring building that houses a Café-Mini market. It is open from early morning until late at night, serving coffee, breakfast, snacks, and providing all the necessary food items, beach supplies, and essential clothing items you may need.
A few words about Gavdos
Gavdos is the southernmost point of Greece and Europe. It lies between the Cretan and Libyan Seas. It is only 24 nautical miles away from Chora Sfakion, 32 from Paleochora, and 170 from Tobruk, Libya.
Comprising ten large and small beaches and five settlements, within an area of just 29 square kilometers, it is an ideal destination for hiking enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those who want to escape the fast pace of the city.
It is believed to be the island of Calypso, Ogygia, where Odysseus was held captive for 7 years. It is also noteworthy that it was inhabited since the Neolithic era, had a presence of the Roman Empire, and in the 1930s became a place of exile for communists, with more than 250 people sent there, including Markos Vafeiadis and Aris Velouchiotis, prominent figures of the Communist Party. Sarakiniko, in particular, has its own little history as it took its name from the Saracen pirates who used the island as their base.

Beaches

It is located just one and a half kilometers from the port. This area offers various amenities, including several taverns, rental rooms, and a mini-market, all near the sea and the road. The majority of the beach is covered with fine sand, while a section of it consists of pebbles, and the waters are shallow throughout its entire length.

It is located four kilometers west of Sarakiniko and has taverns and a mini-market at the point where vehicles stop. Access to the beach requires about a 10-minute walk along an easy trail. It is situated in a landscape that resembles more of Africa, as it is entirely composed of sand dunes, juniper trees, and pines. The Discovery Channel has voted it as the second-best beach in the world, following a beach in Hawaii.

One can reach Pyrgos either by walking along the coast from Lavrakas, which takes about an hour, or by starting from the village of Ambelo, which takes about two and a half hours. In Pyrgos, there are essentially two sandy beaches separated by some rocks and protected by steep earthen cliffs.

It is just a half-hour hike from Agios Ioannis, and one could say that it is a miniature version of it. There, quite close to the sea, you can find a well with clean drinking water that can be used by everyone present.

Known for its turquoise waters and pink-toned sand, Potamos is formed at the mouth of a small gorge. The cedar trees there reach all the way to the sea, and almost the entire beach is covered in clay, which can be used for mud therapy. Access to Potamos is considered difficult as it involves a downhill path starting from the village of Ambelos, which takes about one and a half hours to descend.

Lakoudi beach is known for its crystal-clear waters and its secluded location. The trail that starts from Korfos and leads to Trypiti is the same path followed for a portion of the way to reach Lakoudi. However, to access Lakoudi, there is a relatively steep descent down the ravine that leads to the beach. The geological formations of the beach are of great interest, with caves, fossils on the rocks, and colorful pebbles with characteristic stripes.

Trypiti is located at the southernmost point of Gavdos, as well as Europe. The majority of the beach consists of sand, while at its edge, there are large round stones and pebbles. It gets its name from the three large natural arches, called Kamarelles, which are formed at the southern end of the beach. Above the Kamarelles, there is a gigantic chair that was built by Russian scientists, and it has become a distinctive landmark of the area.
